As the Chief Digital Officer – CDO, you’ll spearhead strategic investments in Data/Information, Digital, and Operational Technology.

Duties &Responsibilities

  • Establish, drive and monitor all Information management, Digital and OT (Operational Technology) IT investments to ensure enterprise-wide IM, Digital and OT services and solutions are cost-effective and adequately meet the needs of business
  • Have accountability and act as a point of escalation for all IM, Digital and OT service delivery to business; management and control of all discretionary and non-discretionary IM, Digital and OT spend and management and control of the Astron Energy Information/data architecture. 
  • Ensure that the IT Business Partnering capabilities support business in achieving their strategic objectives through effective business discussions.  Ensure IM, Digital and OT technology capabilities identified are matured and rolled out to support business including partner ecosystems. Staying updated on IT trends and emerging technologies
  • Partner closely with business to ensure business needs are appropriately captured and that value is monitored, measured, tracked and reported
  • Develop, drive and refine (when needed)  an effective IM, Digital and OT technology strategy and multi-year roadmap that aligns with the business strategy
  • Promote a professional IT environment that attracts and retains the best IT talent
  • Shape, lead and mentor all Information, Digital and OT functional areas and roles to create a culture of high performance that drives and maximises business value through all technology investments and services
  • Ensure mature IT security capabilities and effective audit / risk mechanisms are embedded within IM, Digital and OT to reduce risk across supported IT platforms.  Enable and oversee Information, Digital and OT governance through appropriate architecture frameworks and forums
  • maintaining Information, Digital and OT systems and operations. Managing the organization’s software development needs for these systems. Developing IT policies, procedures and best practices for Information, Digital and OT

DesiredExperience & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of IT management experience
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • 6+ years’ experience in a CIO / IT strategic leadership position
  • 7+ years of experience in Service Development or Operations, 5+ years in business facing role
  • Having operated in a Strategic environment in Management and Information technology is essential.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Industry experience with broad knowledge of industry-specific technologies
  • 4+ years of jointly driving profitability with C-Suite through a deep understanding of key technology such as mobile, analytics and social
  • Proven experience in managing IT transformation including: the establishment of a new strategic IT function; formulation of an IT strategy to support digital initiatives and implementation of a new operating model for IT (preferably in relevant industry)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify, track and measure required IT investments while managing technical debt
  • Experience and / or qualifications with Agile methodologies, TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL
  • Industry experience within energy and refinery specific businesses, along with broad knowledge of industry-specific technologies is advantageous

Knowledge and skills:

  • Strong strategic planning capabilities – to effectively partner with the Technology CIO for the overall IT strategy
  • Strong knowledge of Data and information management – data life cycle, data governance and compliance, data analytics and business intelligence, data business processes and supplier community
  • Strong knowledge of Digital transformation and emerging digital technologies related to the AE industry, digital transformation initiatives that leverage information management to enhance business processes, customer experiences, and overall operational efficiency
  • Strong knowledge of core IT – infrastructure, applications, business processes and technology supplier community
  • Proven leadership and management skills – including team effectiveness and managing transformation and change to drive a high-performance digital culture
