Introduction

 

Our client is in need of a  Regional Sales Manager to provide strategic direction and leadership for the Regional Sales team.

Duties &Responsibilities

 
  • Act as a conduit for Customer requirements and feedback, championing customer interests throughout company
  • Ensure growth and security through development of on-site service and spare parts distribution
  • Direct sales activities to achieve short-term and long-term strategic objectives (including increased profits and market growth) in consultation with the Operations Manager- Africa, Marketing Communications team, and other key stakeholders
  • Assist the Service Account Managers within the African region and the Customer Support Technicians (CSTs) in enhancing the building of relationships and to maintain frequent contact with key Customers, suppliers, industry, and government bodies to achieve agreed sales objectives
  • From time to time (and in agreement with the Operations Manager- Africa), collaborate with other Regional Sales teams as required to embed best-practice sales management processes and routines, thus facilitating a truly coordinated and consistent approach to sales management throughout company
  • Provide peer-to-peer training and mentorship opportunities to assigned members of the Regional Sales team
  • Provide a structured sales process environment, thus ensuring the embedding of a high degree of ownership, accountability, and responsibility across the team
  • Assess the skills of each member of the Regional Sales team (Service Account managers and Sales Coordinator), formulating skills matrices and providing feedback through personal development reviews, as well as ensuring the provision of opportunities to develop new skills and providing advice and support regarding personal and professional development.
  • Where appropriate, provide opportunities for Regional Sales team (Service Account managers and Sales Coordinator) members to gain exposure to other areas of the business.
  • Conduct regular meetings to promote effective communication throughout the department.
  • Manage leave requirements of key staff in order to ensure minimum disruptions
  • Provide advice and support with conflict resolution as required
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies and procedures

DesiredExperience & Qualifications

 
  • Significant experience in a corporate (preferably industrial) business-to-business (B2B) sales leadership environment
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the leadership and coaching of staff
  • Strong leadership and development aptitude, with particular regard to the utilisation of delegation skills in order to enhance development of subordinate staff
  • Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prepare and present professional reports, proposals and other information
  • Degree qualifications in Business / Commerce, Engineering, Marketing or other relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years’ sales leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Possession of a current South African Driver’s Licence (required)
    • B(a); B(b); B5/7 – Light Motor Vehicles or
    • C1; C – Heavy Motor Vehicles or

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • This role requires domestic and international travel.
