Overview
We're hiring a highly skilled and experienced Business Architect to join our client's team. In this role, you'll work across Finance, Procurement, and HR business units to analyze, design, and implement process improvements. You'll be a key player in driving transformation initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions, and delivering measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
As a Business Architect, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting gap analysis to map AS-IS and TO-BE processes, identifying gaps, and addressing regulatory, compliance, language, and system requirements.
Preparing for and facilitating process design workshops, ensuring discussions remain focused and productive.
Reviewing process flows, forms, templates, KPIs, and SLAs to gather feedback and drive improvements.
Updating deliverables such as process maps, role impacts, system changes, KPI/SLA updates, service catalog changes, and transition plans.
Assessing and capturing the impact of changes on processes, people, systems, and overall business operations.
Engaging with stakeholders through interviews and securing their input and sign-off on deliverables.
Providing expert guidance based on Shared Services/Global Business Services (GBS) experience, ensuring quality control and risk mitigation.
Supporting the execution of transition plans, including cutover, go-live, and hypercare phases.
Designing test packs, supporting testing activities, and producing training materials and plans as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A relevant business degree (NQF Level 7 qualification).
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in business process transformation.
Proficiency in tools such as Visio and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to engage effectively with non-native English speakers in virtual settings.
Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to ambiguity and confidentiality constraints.
Experience in executing roles within transformation projects, including process design workshops, process mapping, and change impact analysis.
Hands-on experience with GBS/Shared Services implementation and transactional processes in Finance, Procurement, or HR.
Leadership skills to guide teams, challenge stakeholders, and drive process standardization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Oil & Gas or Retail industry.
SAP experience.
Familiarity with Africa Operating Unit (OU) processes.
Day-to-Day
On a typical day, you will:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve business processes.
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagements to gather insights and feedback.
Develop and update process documentation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Provide expert guidance on role impacts, process focus, and risk mitigation strategies.
Support testing, training, and transition activities to ensure successful implementation of process changes.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive presentations.
