Business Developer - South Africa

Compensation: Depending on experience

Overview

A driving force in the energy transition sector, is seeking a Business Developer to join their team in South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying and engaging with new commercial and corporate prospects, presenting complex energy solutions, and closing new business sales at a corporate/board level.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively find new accounts to develop additional business in the country

  • Prospect, identify, and develop key accounts on the market

  • Identify key stakeholders and decision makers within the customer business

  • Commercial development to reach the objectives set

  • Negotiate and follow-up on contracts

  • Maintain close relationship and communication with existing clients

  • Represent the company in local and national exhibitions and conferences

  • Collaborate with the International Development Business Unit

  • Prepare reports on business visits and meetings

  • Present and close complex energy solutions at board level with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Business School / Management / Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience

  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a mid to senior level in sales / business development

  • Knowledge of the photovoltaic and/or energy efficiency sector

  • Experience in managing complex sales processes requiring a consultative approach

  • Fluent in English (Additional local language beneficial)

  • Valid SA Drivers license
