Overview
We’re looking for a seasoned Cyber Security Specialist to join our fast-moving team. You’ll lead the charge on securing next-gen tech, managing threats, and driving smart, scalable security solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and support of cybersecurity measures for cutting-edge technologies including IoT, 5G, and Edge Computing
Design and execute advanced security architecture strategies covering zero trust models, micro-segmentation, SDN, network function virtualization, SASE/SSE, and secure enclaves
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Ensure resilience across security operations through threat prevention (e.g., firewalls, SaaS detection, SSL/PKI encryption)
Drive proactive threat detection through methods like log analysis, insider threat detection, threat hunting, deception technologies, and full packet inspection
Manage identity and access frameworks including credentialing, SSO, PAM, and user lifecycle management
Lead breach response initiatives with rapid protocols and robust remediation strategies
Regularly assess security tools and solutions to ensure operational alignment and efficiency
Stay ahead of the curve by researching new technologies and evolving cybersecurity threats
Qualifications
Grade 12 (Matric) – required
Relevant IT degree or diploma – desirable
Industry certifications advantageous (e.g., CompTIA, ISC²)
Vendor certifications beneficial (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Microsoft)
10+ years in a hands-on cybersecurity role (administration or engineering)
Deep experience across a wide range of toolsets: IAM, PAM, NAC, WAF, DDoS, MFA, MDM, DLP, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, AD, and OS/network administration (Windows, Linux, Wi-Fi)
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, development, and production operations
Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and tools
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate technical risks into business impact
Effective collaborator and communicator
Adaptable and proactive in fast-changing environments
Day-to-Day
Define technical parameters for cybersecurity tools to ensure smooth integration and functionality
Contribute to the engineering and deployment of cybersecurity solutions, including configuration and ongoing support
Monitor and operate key security systems such as IAM, DLP, DSPM, PAM, and TPRM
Provide expert guidance to teams and users on implementing, managing, and troubleshooting security technologies
Oversee change, incident, and operations management within the security domain
Generate performance indicators, security reports, and technical documentation
Facilitate and participate in working groups, knowledge-sharing sessions, and team collaboration initiatives
Lead technical and operational reviews, ensuring controls and alerts are correctly implemented
