Data Scientist

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Scientist to join our clients Data & Analytics COE team. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for providing statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling, simulation, and optimization to discover trends, opportunities, and threats. You will work closely with business users to answer complex business questions and provide valuable insights through advanced analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Design advanced analytics models to answer key business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Analyze model results, interpret findings, and communicate them in commercial terms to business users.

  • Collaborate with BI Analysts, Data Scientists, and Use Case Owners to assist in answering complex business problems.

  • Establish effective partnerships with relevant business and IT teams, particularly the BI source systems.

  • Remain current with retail industry and Business Intelligence trends to support recommendations and generate value.

Qualifications

  • Degree in applied statistics, mathematics, operational research, economics, data engineering, or equivalent industry training and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years in advanced analytics, model building, and optimization.

  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using SAS and SQL skills or equivalent analytical platform skills.

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced analytical techniques, including statistical methods, segmentation, experimental design, neural networks, data mining, and optimization techniques.

Day-to-day

  • Work closely with business users to understand their needs and provide valuable insights through statistical analysis and modeling.

  • Collaborate with BI Analysts and Data Scientists to address complex business problems.

  • Stay updated with retail industry and Business Intelligence trends to support recommendations and generate value.
