General Manager - Cape Town
Overview
We are seeking a General Manager to oversee the operations of renewable energy Community Trusts. The right person will have a great passion working within the communities
Responsibilities
- Develop and submit budgets for three trusts to the Boards for approval
- Implement financial management systems and ensure compliance with reporting standards
- Facilitate audits and secure approved Annual Financial Statements
- Conduct risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies
- Manage compliance with Trust deeds and principles of good governance
- Facilitate recruitment, induction, and training of trustees
- Develop and secure approval of funding and community development strategies
- Identify and manage key stakeholders
- Provide leadership and management of the Trust Office team
- Ensure operational stability and infrastructure
- Develop and secure approval of relevant policies
Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification (Degree) in legal, financial, and development fields
- Proven track record in senior leadership roles
- Must understand Legal aspects of working within communities
- Strategic thinking with strong legal/financial acumen
- Understanding of community development principles
- Knowledge of risk management principles
- Experience in the REIPPP or working with NGO's will be an added advantage
Day-to-day
The General Manager will be responsible for financial oversight, governance, risk, and compliance management, strategy development, stakeholder relations management, leadership of the team, and operational oversight.
