Head IT Operations

Overview:

We have a great new opportunity for Head of IT Operations to oversee the delivery of IT Service, Infrastructure Management, Technical Architecture, IT continuity management, and IT finance administration functions. The successful candidate will collaborate with the business to ensure effective and efficient service delivery, maximum access, availability, and quality of technology environments and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage processes, procedures, and vendors

  • Ensure prevention, recovery, and resolution of IT problems and incidents aligned with ITIL Service Management principles

  • Deliver changes and releases to the IT environment ensuring continuity to the business

  • Monitor and improve performance against Service and Operational Level Agreements

  • Handle escalations on priority incidents

  • Evolve the maturity of Service Management, Technical Architecture, and Continuity functions

  • Manage technical system architecture, solution planning, and renewal of legacy/obsolescence

  • Plan strategy and roadmap with team Service Manager and Technical SMEs

  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks

  • Foster a culture of continuous service improvement in teams and vendors

  • Manage internal and external relationships

  • Stay updated on market developments to ensure best practices supporting strategic objectives

  • Ensure integration with governance requirements

  • Optimize team performance, succession, and engagement

  • Align priorities and assist Managers/Technical leads with detailed planning

  • Manage IT Infrastructure/Operations budget

  • Set goals, define KPIs, and manage performance in line with business strategy

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within and across teams

  • Manage IT Contract and reviews

  • Facilitate training and development

Qualifications:

  • Significant IT Operations management experience

  • ITIL Expert certificate or equivalent

  • Degreed or Diploma qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing IT teams, processes, governance, and frameworks

  • Project management experience - advantageous

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry - advantageous

The role involves overseeing the IT operations, collaborating with business units, managing vendors, ensuring service delivery, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
