Overview
We are searching for Intermediate Product Owner (Product Owner II) to join our client's team. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our agile delivery teams by defining user stories, prioritising backlogs, and ensuring the seamless execution of programme priorities. As a Senior Product Owner, you will play a critical role in aligning product vision and strategy with execution, ensuring the delivery of high-quality features and components.
Note that this role is in-office, based in Brackenfell.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Owner, your key responsibilities will include:
Programme & Backlog Management
Collaborate with Product Management to refine the programme backlog and ensure the team is well-prepared for PI Planning.
Keep Programme Management updated on progress against team PI objectives.
Product Backlog Ownership
Continuously refine, sequence, and prioritise the product backlog to meet stakeholder needs.
Gather and document product requirements as user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Ensure user stories are complete, well-defined, and ready for upcoming iterations.
Involve the team in backlog refinement to ensure familiarity with upcoming tasks.
Collaborate with the Product Manager and delivery team during programme backlog refinement.
Direction & Decision-Making
Provide clear and transparent direction to the agile team.
Apply economic decision-making principles to prioritise user stories and align them with PI objectives.
Balance programme priorities with local team needs to ensure optimal outcomes.
Agile Release Train (ART) Participation
Actively participate in ART-level events, including ART Sync, Product Owner Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt, PI Planning, Daily Stand-ups, and System Demos.
Team-Level Engagement
Provide vision and direction during Iteration Planning.
Participate in iteration planning sessions and accept completed work during Iteration Demos.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an agile environment.
Prior experience in banking - essential.
Strong understanding of agile principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to define user stories, prioritise backlogs, and manage programme objectives.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering value.
Experience in participating in Agile Release Train (ART) events is highly desirable.
Ability to balance competing priorities and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
