Overview
We are searching for an experienced IT Internal Auditor to join our client's team. This role is integral to ensuring the effectiveness of IT governance, digital auditing, IT architecture, and IT security across our organization. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of independently managing the full audit lifecycle, from planning and fieldwork to reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative team environment while contributing to the continuous improvement of our IT audit function.
Travel Required: Yes, across South Africa and Namibia.
Responsibilities
Establish and embed the IT audit function, which has been operational for less than five years.
Execute IT audits in alignment with the approved IT audit plan, managing the entire audit lifecycle from initiation to reporting.
Conduct follow-up reviews on IT audit findings, ensuring effective remediation of outstanding issues in collaboration with IT Management.
Support and expand the digital auditing tool, ALICE, including data connector installation, maintenance, and query resolution.
Oversee the completion of all relevant IT surveys.
Develop and enhance the library of IT audit reviews, including methodologies, working papers, sampling approaches, and report templates.
Collaborate with IT Management, advisory services, and specialist IT auditors to enhance continuous auditing capabilities using tools such as ALICE, Alteryx, SQL, and Microsoft solutions (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate).
Provide input into the IT internal audit scope and audit plan for submission to the audit committee.
Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, tools, and performance standards.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (BCOM/BSC).
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Minimum of 3–4 years of proven experience as an IT Auditor, with strong knowledge of IT governance and security practices.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Additional certifications such as CIA, A+, Network+, or Security+.
Experience in a Big 4 IT audit environment.
Knowledge of Alteryx (certification is advantageous but not required).
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with Transact-SQL (TSQL) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) scripting.
Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation tools like UiPath or n8n.
High attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and strong report-writing abilities.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of independent decision-making.
Willingness to pursue further certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
