Overview
We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide expert technical support to staff based onsite at various operational assets within our client's portfolio.
Responsibilities
Provide support to the Shared Services team
Provide technical support to operating assets
Change management
Project Management & Engineering
Business Development Support
Grid Code Compliance Support
Any other duties, as assigned by the Engineering Manager
Qualifications
Minimum of five years’ experience in design and/or maintenance and/or operation of power systems
B.Sc. Eng/B.Eng. in Electro-mechanical, Mechatronics engineering or NQF equivalent
Working towards ECSA professional registration
Knowledge of primary and secondary plant testing
Formal training and/or significant proven experience in project management
Experience in running an engineering change control system
Experience in Microsoft Project Server or similar project management system would be an advantage
Experience in electrical safety training including Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems (ORHVS)
Experience in implementing NFPA 70E and/or IEEE 1584 standards
Demonstrated experience in LV, MV and HV electrical systems
Experience in wind and photovoltaic plants would be an advantage
Technical expertise and experience in Root Cause Analysis and risk management
A valid light vehicle driver’s license is required
Day-to-day
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, driving engineering-focused improvement initiatives, managing the engineering change control system, leading or assisting in project management/execution, and providing expert input to the Development Engineering team for new renewable facilities.
