Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Territory Manager to join our client's team. The successful candidate will provide business advisory support to service stations across the region, driving sales growth, operational excellence, and profitability.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Manage retailer relationships and ensure franchise excellence.
Deliver sales targets by driving profitable volume and revenue growth.
Identify site growth opportunities, segment targeting, and cost-to-serve analysis.
Develop and execute clear business growth plans to achieve sustainable, above-market performance.
Analyze data, monitor competition, and devise sales strategies to address retailer concerns and identify growth opportunities.
Operational Excellence
Ensure efficient sales operations and site excellence within assigned territories.
Monitor and drive the delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, financial, and operational targets.
Implement and monitor compliance with HSSE standards and procedures at site level.
Provide expert knowledge and support to retailers to ensure operational excellence and adherence to brand standards.
Customer & Market Engagement
Provide professional expertise and an enabling environment for retailers to achieve their business objectives.
Develop and implement micro-marketing plans per site to grow market share.
Collaborate with the marketing support team to build and execute a C-store network plan.
Gather and provide critical market intelligence to improve business processes and decision-making.
People Management
Guide and support retail site owners to foster a culture of operational excellence and teamwork.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business priorities.
Play a key role in the selection, management, and development of retailers.
Execute the transformation plan for retail operations.
Qualifications
Education
Postgraduate qualification in Sales & Marketing, Commercial, Business, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Retail Sales & Operations, preferably in the petroleum industry.
Proven track record of business turnaround and increasing sales and revenue through developed sales strategies.
Field sales experience is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of both fuel and non-fuel retailing.
Expertise in retailer and customer relationship management.
Proficiency in retail economics, franchise excellence, and the RAS model.
Strong selling, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and the use of performance KPIs.
High levels of commercial acumen and understanding of value drivers.
Proven ability to deliver operational excellence and solve problems creatively and critically.
