Overview

We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and motivated Business Process Analyst to join our client's team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analysing, designing, and optimising end-to-end business workflows within our new investment-platform environment. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong understanding of investment product administration, South African financial regulations, and workflow automation tools, coupled with proven experience in process re-engineering within the financial services or investment industry.

Responsibilities

As a Business Process Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mapping and documenting current-state (AS-IS) and future-state (TO-BE) business processes across investment administration, client servicing, and product operations

  • Identifying inefficiencies, duplication, and manual dependencies to drive simplification and automation

  • Collaborating with business units, product owners, and vendors to define optimal workflow solutions aligned with the organisation’s digital-platform strategy

  • Ensuring process improvements comply with governance, compliance, and control requirements (e.g., FAIS, FICA, Pension Funds Act, TCF, PDD)

  • Developing and maintaining workflow models using business-process management (BPM) tools

  • Supporting the design and deployment of automated business rules, approval routing, and digital form processing

  • Translating business process logic into system configurations and integrations in collaboration with vendors

  • Analysing and documenting process impacts of migrating from legacy systems to target-state platforms

  • Conducting gap and impact analysis on existing workflows and identifying required adjustments

  • Supporting business readiness, testing, and adoption planning to ensure smooth process transitions post-migration

  • Developing test cases for process and workflow validation and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Tracking and analysing process performance metrics post-implementation to ensure continuous improvement

  • Facilitating workshops and walkthroughs with stakeholders to validate and refine workflow designs

  • Acting as a bridge between operations and vendor teams to ensure clarity and alignment throughout delivery

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or Process Engineering

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Process Analyst or Workflow Analyst in the financial services or investment administration sector

  • Strong knowledge of South African investment and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAIS, FICA, Pension Funds Act, PDD)

  • Proven expertise in workflow modelling, process mapping, and automation using BPM, RPA, or similar tools

  • Experience in system migration, platform modernisation, or operational transformation programmes

  • Solid understanding of investment administration processes, including transactions, reconciliations, pricing, and reporting

Day-to-Day

  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements

  • Designing and documenting efficient workflows and processes

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements

  • Monitoring and analysing workflow performance to identify areas for further optimisation
