Overview

We are recruiting a highly skilled and motivated Finance Business Analyst to join our client's team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business and technology within the Finance and Investment Administration environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives such as system enhancements, financial process optimisation, and large-scale platform migrations, ensuring that business requirements are effectively translated into functional solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Investment Administration, and external vendors to gather, analyse, and document detailed business requirements

  • Develop comprehensive Business Requirement Specifications (BRS), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), and Process Flow Diagrams

  • Conduct gap analyses to identify differences between current ("as-is") and target ("to-be") processes

  • Analyse and interpret financial data flows between SAP modules and investment systems

  • Support integration between front-office, middle-office, and back-office applications, ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards

  • Participate in workstreams related to large-scale system or platform migrations, such as SAP S/4HANA and investment administration systems

  • Define test cases, manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, and ensure timely resolution of defects in collaboration with development and QA teams

  • Work closely with senior management, Finance teams, and external vendors to align business objectives with technical delivery

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent) is advantageous

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst within the Financial Services or Investment Management sector

  • Experience in Investment Administration, Unit Trust Operations, or Life Insurance Finance is highly desirable

  • Hands-on experience with SAP Finance modules

  • Proven track record of contributing to large system/platform migrations or finance transformation programmes

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and SAP reporting tools

  • Experience in testing changes to large financial platforms

Day-to-Day
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements

  • Analyse financial processes and identify opportunities for optimisation

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and data flows

  • Develop and execute test cases, ensuring the quality and accuracy of system changes

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on project progress and deliverables
