Responsibilities

As a Customer Support Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assembly and Commissioning: Assemble and commission our range of technologies and associated products.

  • Maintenance and Training: Conduct repairs, maintenance, and training on equipment at mine sites across South Africa and the broader region.

  • Customer Support: Act as the central point of contact for service requests, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently and professionally.

  • Spare Parts Sales: Support spare parts sales for existing customers, including coordination of supply and delivery.

  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to workplace health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Required:

    • Journeyman qualification in mechanics, crane technology, diesel technology, or a similar trade.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.

    • Strong communication and time management skills.

    • Valid "C" Class Driver’s Licence and the ability to obtain an unrestricted international driver’s licence.

    • Ability to meet health and medical requirements for site work.

  • Desirable:

    • Experience in the hard rock mining industry.

    • Knowledge of grinding mill maintenance and relining.

    • Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field.

Day-to-Day

Your daily activities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Service Superintendent to address breakdowns and ensure equipment functionality.

  • Conducting on-site training for mine personnel on the effective use of our technologies.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently.

  • Coordinating spare parts logistics and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Maintaining accurate records, including timesheets, expenses, and service reports.

  • Providing feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement in processes and products.
