Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supply & Distribution Coordinator to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient management of warehouse operations, logistics, procurement, and inventory control. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
As a Supply & Distribution Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:
Warehouse Control
Accept and process deliveries into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 FinOps)
Issue goods for sales orders or projects and allocate parts to specific locations
Maintain a clean and organized warehouse to ensure stock tidiness
Register non-conformance documentation in line with quality assurance processes
Logistics Coordination
Pack outgoing parts and assist with customs-related matters
Coordinate with customers and brokers to resolve shipping issues
Procurement
Source spare parts from local and international suppliers
Manage vendor relationships to improve pricing and delivery times
Monitor and expedite purchase orders as needed
Inventory Control
Maintain accurate physical and system inventory records
Participate in weekly cycle counts and full stock takes
Ensure batch/serial-tracked items are appropriately managed
Shipping
Verify customer purchase orders against sales orders for accuracy
Coordinate with shipping departments to ensure timely delivery
Prepare and review commercial invoices for international shipments
Facilities Management
Ensure the Johannesburg warehouse is well-maintained
Ongoing Tasks
Participate in toolbox talks and training sessions
Continuously develop product knowledge
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
Strong understanding of warehousing, procurement, and inventory management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to maintain high work standards with attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365)
Basic mechanical knowledge
Valid driver’s license (Code B, C1, C, EB, EC1, or EC) and forklift certification (essential)
Tertiary qualifications in procurement or logistics
Experience in packing and shipping dangerous goods
Prior experience in the mining or manufacturing industries
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
