Financial Accountant

Overview:

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join the team at a leading independent power producer in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting and financial reporting for the managed operating power plants, partnering with the operations team to drive performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage transactional and reporting processes

• Cash flow management

• Statutory and compliance reporting

• Budgeting and forecasting

• Support the broader team

Qualifications:

• Minimum Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) qualification or equivalent NQF level qualification

• Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in a commercial and/or corporate environment

• Relevant experience with Microsoft Office packages, ERP systems, and banking profiles

• Knowledge of financial systems, processes, and internal control mechanisms

• Renewable energy experience is an advantage

Day-to-day:

The successful candidate will partner with the operations team, prepare financial reports, manage cash flow, ensure compliance with finance agreements, and support various finance and operations activities.
