Sales Development Manager - Nairobi, Kenya

Our client, a powerhouse in China's ICT services sector, is expanding into East Africa—and they need a sharp Sales Development Manager to lead the charge in Nairobi.

Responsibilities
  • Present our brand to carrier players in Southern Africa, manage client relationships, acquire RFP invites, and drive the selling functions to achieve revenue and profit targets.

  • Explore new business opportunities, forge relations with target clients, and develop new carrier to carrier sales opportunities in the African market.

  • Act as the primary contact point to carrier partners/clients, organize commercial events, and contribute to commercial marketing strategy by carrying out regular market research.

  • Manage contracts with carrier partner/clients, ensure compliance with company policies, and prepare reports for senior management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in a related field from a reputable University.

  • Certifications or supplementary sales training.

  • Minimum 8 years of sales experience in the telecom industry, with at least 5 years in the carrier or wholesale telecom market.

  • Strong understanding of the wholesale telecom market in the Southern Africa Region.

  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills.

  • Techno-commercial experience and understanding of financial terms like P&L statements, GP, and EBITDA.

  • Solid understanding of Telecommunication networks and new technologies like IOT, 5G, FTTx, cloud, data centers, and IP.

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time both locally and internationally.

Day-to-day
  • Presenting CMIs brand to Southern Africa’s carrier players.

  • Managing relations with clients and acquiring RFP invites.

  • Exploring new business opportunities and forging relations with target clients.

  • Organizing commercial events and social interactions requested by partners/clients.

  • Carrying out regular market research and contributing intelligence into pricing functions.

  • Coordinating with multiple internal departments to position CMI’s product and ensure customer needs are met.
