Overview
We’re on the lookout for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Service Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Madagascar. In this role, you’ll be key to managing and executing technical projects, delivering exceptional customer support, and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Service Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
Project Planning & Management: Oversee the complete planning, execution, and technical closure of projects.
Technical Support: Conduct fault finding, failure analysis, and troubleshooting for breakdowns and machine failures.
Customer Support: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction through timely responses and effective solutions.
Quality & Safety Management: Uphold high standards of quality control, safety compliance, and time/cost management.
Engine Maintenance: Perform engine disassembly, measurements, assembly, performance tests, and maintenance inspections, particularly for marine applications.
Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide after-sales support, including spare parts and repairs.
Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records, complete time sheets/job cards, and produce detailed technical reports.
Workshop & Onsite Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and proper functioning of workshop equipment and tools.
Ad-hoc Duties: Adhere to corporate policies, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in marine applications or high-speed engines.
Strong technical expertise in engine disassembly, assembly, and performance testing.
Proficiency in fault finding, failure analysis, and troubleshooting.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent technical report-writing skills.
Exceptional time management, organizational, and cost management abilities.
Strong understanding of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Day-to-Day
A typical day in the life of a Senior Service Engineer may include:
Conducting engine inspections, disassembly, and performance tests.
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on-site or in the workshop.
Collaborating with customers and the sales team to address after-sales support needs.
Preparing detailed technical reports and maintaining accurate job records.
Ensuring workshop equipment and tools are in optimal condition.
Managing project timelines, costs, and safety compliance.
Providing technical guidance and support to team members.
