Overview
We are searching for a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Senior Consultant to join our client's support team in South Africa, based in Cape Town. This is a permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to lead the implementation and optimization of the ServiceNow platform across key modules such as ITSM Pro, ITOM (Discovery), HRSD, APM, and SPM. You will play a pivotal role in delivering scalable solutions, driving technical excellence, and ensuring positive outcomes for our clients.
This role also includes providing deputy support to the Head of Operations and contributing to the growth and development of our ServiceNow practice.
Responsibilities
Architect and Lead ServiceNow Implementations: Define, design, and oversee the delivery of scalable ServiceNow solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and client requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, project managers, and technical teams to gather and interpret requirements, transforming them into robust ServiceNow solutions.
Champion Best Practice: Promote ServiceNow best practices, challenging unnecessary customizations to maintain platform health and upgradeability.
Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including specifications, test plans, training materials, and knowledge base articles.
Quality Assurance: Lead testing and review of new deliveries, production applications, or existing workflows, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Customization and Development Leadership: Direct advanced configuration and customization efforts using JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs, Flow Designer, and integration technologies.
Project Oversight: Lead ServiceNow projects end-to-end, ensuring scope, timelines, and resources are well managed.
Technical Mentorship: Provide expert guidance and mentoring to colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Complex Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve advanced technical challenges, ensuring platform stability and performance.
Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of ServiceNow advancements and advocate for innovations to optimize platform performance and usability.
Internal Instance Management: Take responsibility for the organization’s ServiceNow instances, including production and development environments.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to account and project planning, proposals, and the development of services across the ServiceNow practice.
Qualifications
ServiceNow Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ServiceNow consulting with hands-on expertise in ITSM Pro, ITOM (Discovery), HRSD, APM, and SPM.
Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-level ServiceNow implementations.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, Flow Designer, REST/SOAP APIs, and ServiceNow integration strategies.
Architectural Design: Extensive experience in designing scalable ServiceNow architectures and complex system integrations.
Communication Skills: Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
Certifications: ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), Certified Application Developer (CAD), and Certified System Administrator (CSA) are highly advantageous.
Problem-Solving Skills: Expertise in resolving complex technical challenges with minimal impact on end users.
Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with investment management applications (e.g., fund accounting, CRM, document management, or EDM) is preferred.
Day-to-Day
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for ServiceNow implementations.
Design and oversee the delivery of scalable and efficient ServiceNow solutions.
Lead testing, quality assurance, and documentation efforts to ensure high standards of delivery.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues, ensuring platform stability and performance.
Stay updated on ServiceNow advancements and advocate for innovative solutions.
Manage and maintain internal ServiceNow instances, ensuring optimal performance and usability.
