Overview
We are searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our client’s VAT and Indirect Tax Compliance team as part of a structured 3-year SAIT Trainee Program. This opportunity offers hands-on experience in tax compliance, working alongside seasoned professionals and using advanced technology to simplify complex VAT and indirect tax processes.
Responsibilities
As an Analyst, you will work under the guidance of an experienced Account Manager, with the goal of transitioning into an Account Manager role upon demonstrating competency and expertise. Your key responsibilities will include:
Capturing, processing, and analyzing data.
Assisting Account Managers with VAT filings, including VAT returns, ECSLs, and intrastate reports.
Drafting professional correspondence and emails.
Conducting VAT compliance checks.
Supporting technical research and analysis.
Performing administrative tasks as required by the team.
Communicating with tax offices and handling client and tax authority queries.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, Account Managers, and team members.
Ensuring the effective delivery of relevant information to stakeholders.
Preparing for audits and responding to audit queries.
Demonstrating a clear understanding of the business and the role of an Account Manager.
Completing additional ad-hoc tasks to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
A Senior Certificate and a relevant B.Com degree.
Completion of, or current enrollment in, a B.Com Honours degree specializing in Taxation or equivalent.
A sound understanding of tax legislation and tax law.
