Building Services Mechanical Engineer (Fire)

Overview:

We’re looking for a skilled Building Services Mechanical Engineer with a fire safety focus to join a leading company in Cape Town, Western Cape. In this role, you’ll play a key part in developing fire safety and compliance designs for construction projects across South Africa and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Develop fire safety and fire compliance designs for multi-disciplinary construction projects

• Manage small and medium projects with limited guidance

• Represent the company in client and site meetings

• Assist with tender documentation and project management administration

• Utilize strong MS Word and MS Excel skills

• Obtain ECSA professional registration status

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical building services environment

• Minimum 5 years' experience in SANS deemed to satisfy and rational building fire safety design

• BTech/BEng in Mechanical Engineering

Day-to-day:

The successful candidate will be involved in designing firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurization systems, and fire sprinkler systems. They will also be responsible for professionally representing the company in various meetings and assisting with project management tasks.
