Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Analyst to join our client's Business Development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of power projects across Africa. With a focus on renewable energy and sustainable solutions, you will play a key role in supporting project transactions from inception to financial close.

Responsibilities

As a Business Development Professional, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the lead Project Director in managing power project transactions.

  • Developing and maintaining project schedules.

  • Tracking and updating transaction budgets.

  • Assisting in securing internal approvals for projects.

  • Preparing and delivering key status reports.

  • Conducting detailed research to support current and prospective deals.

  • Drafting and collating responses for RFPs, pre-qualification documents, and other project-related submissions.

  • Assisting in securing project consents and coordinating with environmental and social workstreams.

  • Collaborating with technical, ESG, legal, financing, and tax project team members, as well as external advisors.

  • Coordinating post-acquisition integration programs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Master’s degree, preferably with an MBA.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector, with a preference for renewable power.

  • Experience in the power industry, particularly in emerging markets.

  • Proficiency in MS Project (intermediate level), MS Excel (advanced level), and MS PowerPoint (advanced level).

  • Previous project management experience is advantageous.

  • A background in management consulting or a similar field is optimal.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally across Africa and to other company offices.
