Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Analyst to join our client's Business Development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of power projects across Africa. With a focus on renewable energy and sustainable solutions, you will play a key role in supporting project transactions from inception to financial close.
Responsibilities
As a Business Development Professional, your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the lead Project Director in managing power project transactions.
Developing and maintaining project schedules.
Tracking and updating transaction budgets.
Assisting in securing internal approvals for projects.
Preparing and delivering key status reports.
Conducting detailed research to support current and prospective deals.
Drafting and collating responses for RFPs, pre-qualification documents, and other project-related submissions.
Assisting in securing project consents and coordinating with environmental and social workstreams.
Collaborating with technical, ESG, legal, financing, and tax project team members, as well as external advisors.
Coordinating post-acquisition integration programs.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
A Master’s degree, preferably with an MBA.
A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sector, with a preference for renewable power.
Experience in the power industry, particularly in emerging markets.
Proficiency in MS Project (intermediate level), MS Excel (advanced level), and MS PowerPoint (advanced level).
Previous project management experience is advantageous.
A background in management consulting or a similar field is optimal.
Willingness to travel occasionally across Africa and to other company offices.
