We are on the hunt for an experienced Contract Manager to oversee all aspects of contract management, including development, negotiation, and administration with suppliers, service providers, and contractors. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, budgets, and safety regulations at our mine site. Note: Role will be based in Sandton at first but will move to Rustenburg once site office is set up

Responsibilities

As a Contract Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts with vendors, service providers, and contractors.

  • Drafting, reviewing, and updating contracts to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.

  • Ensuring all contracts adhere to local laws, industry regulations, and organizational guidelines.

  • Managing contract disputes and claims, providing effective solutions to mitigate risks.

  • Tracking and monitoring contract milestones to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.

  • Overseeing the performance and management of vendors, contractors, and service providers.

  • Conducting site visits to monitor contractor progress, quality of work, and adherence to contract specifications.

  • Addressing and resolving performance-related concerns with contractors.

  • Maintaining accurate records of contracts, amendments, and related documentation.

  • Providing regular reports to senior management on contract status, contractor performance, and project progress.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in contract management, with at least 5 years in the mining or construction industry.

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with contracts and contractors.

  • Proficiency in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant project management tools.

  • Willingness to work on-site at the mine location.
