Overview
We are searching for a dynamic Corporate Retail Manager to lead and elevate the retail strategy for our client. This role is critical in aligning the corporate retail direction with affiliate retail strategies, driving growth, standardisation, and operational excellence across all retail streams — including fuels, lubricants, non-fuel retail (NFR), and customer experience.
The successful candidate will report to theCorporate Centre of Excellence Heads and will lead a high-performing team that includes the Corporate Retail Operations Manager, Retail Marketing & Customer Experience Lead, Corporate Network & Engineering Advisor, and Corporate NFR & Services Manager.
The role requires strong bilingual proficiency in English and French, with Arabic being an added advantage. Travel within Africa may be required.
This role is based in Morocco.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Functional Responsibilities
Define, deploy, and continuously refine the Group Retail Strategy.
Ensure alignment between corporate retail direction and affiliate retail strategies.
Supervise affiliate retail performance, including network development plans, ROI, and market competitiveness.
Drive operational excellence, standardization, and harmonization of retail practices across all affiliates.
Lead cross-functional integration between retail, engineering, marketing, and other key functions.
Monitor retail performance through KPIs, reports, and business reviews; identify performance gaps and propose corrective actions.
Contribute to the enhancement and digitalization of retail processes, tools, and systems.
Ensure affiliate adherence to retail guidelines, procedures, and control tools.
Facilitate best-practice sharing across the Group’s retail teams.
Program & Network Development
Coordinate Group Retail programs and initiatives with affiliates; ensure effective implementation.
Support affiliates in optimizing their retail networks to improve volumes, margins, customer loyalty, and overall profitability.
Lead the development of non-fuel retail (NFR), define NFR formats, strengthen existing partnerships, and establish new ones.
Develop operational and merchandising guidelines.
Identify new opportunities and emerging trends to support retail growth and competitiveness.
People & Capability Development
Support retail capability building through coaching, mentorship, and training initiatives.
Promote and sustain a strong retail culture across the Group.
Reporting & Governance
Provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations to the Head of COEs or relevant corporate leadership.
Ensure transparency and alignment across Corporate and Affiliate retail teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; additional qualifications in Sales, Marketing, or Retail Management are preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Downstream Oil & Gas Retail within reputable multinational companies.
At least 5 years in a senior Retail leadership role with a proven track record in developing and executing retail strategies across multiple geographies.
Expertise in:
Retail network development and optimization.
Fuels, lubricants, and non-fuel retail (NFR) operations.
Market profitability analysis and business planning.
Retail customer experience and loyalty development.
Core Technical Competencies
Strong command of network planning, expansion, ROI modeling, asset optimization, and performance management.
Deep understanding of fuel pricing, margin management, competitive landscape, and retail operations.
Proven ability to lead and grow convenience retail, QSR partnerships, and service offerings.
Skilled in economic evaluation, strategic analysis, and commercial decision-making.
Familiarity with digital dashboards, customer analytics, CRM tools, and automation of retail processes.
