Overview:

Are you a driven, relationship-focused sales professional with a passion for the mining and energy sector? We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager – Mining to take charge of a key sales territory and drive growth, customer excellence, and strategic execution.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing activities across a designated portfolio to achieve revenue, profitability, credit, and growth objectives. You’ll be the face of our mining segment—building strong partnerships, understanding customer needs, and delivering exceptional solutions aligned to market strategy.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of mining-sector customers, ensuring strong relationships and service excellence

  • Meet and exceed KPIs across volume, gross profit, costs, working capital, and overdue management

  • Prospect and onboard new customers in line with the mining channel strategy

  • Develop action-oriented key account plans to deliver value for both the customer and the business

  • Collaborate closely with credit teams to ensure responsible credit management and minimise risk

  • Upsell and cross-sell products, expanding wallet share and enhancing profitability

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs—providing insights for strategic decision-making

  • Manage forecasting inputs to support optimal inventory planning

  • Ensure quick and effective resolution of customer queries and complaints

  • Maintain solid knowledge of product offerings and market strategy

  • Uphold safety standards and compliance requirements at customer sites

What You Bring
Education & Qualifications
  • A degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Commerce, or Engineering (essential)

Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Key Account Management within Sales, Marketing, or Business Development

  • Experience in petrochemical, energy, or mining sectors is highly advantageous

  • Proficiency in Excel and systems such as SAP
