Cost Controller
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Controller with a strong background in the catering industry to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, managing budgets, financial planning, and analysis, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of catering operations and cost management.
Responsibilities
Develop, monitor, and analyse financial strategies, forecasts, and budgets to support the catering business
Oversee and manage the preparation of budgets, including operating and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring alignment with the catering department's objectives
Work closely with the catering operations team to monitor food and overhead costs, implementing strategies to optimize cost efficiency and profitability
Analyse pricing strategies, revenue streams, and profit margins from catering events, banquets, and contracts to enhance financial performance
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow projections, and variance analysis
Oversee cash flow, accounts payable, and receivable, ensuring timely payment processing and collections
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards specific to the catering and hospitality industry
Collaborate with the catering and events teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making for event planning, menu pricing, and service optimization
Establish and maintain strong internal control processes and prepare for external audits
Work with procurement teams to negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure financial efficiency
Manage the implementation and use of financial software ERP systems to track expenses, revenues, and performance metrics efficiently
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role
Proficient level in Excel
University degree in Accounting and Finance
Ability to work without supervision
3 years minimum experience in catering
Language proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not a must
Day-to-day
Monitoring and analyzing financial strategies and budgets
Collaborating with catering operations team
Preparing financial reports and cash flow management
Ensuring compliance with financial regulations
Collaborating with procurement teams and managing vendor relationships
