Overview
The OneStream Data Analyst plays a critical role in transforming financial and operational data into meaningful insights for decision-makers.This role supports planning, consolidation, and reporting processes by analysing data flows, validating results, designing reports, and ensuring the OneStream platform delivers accurate, timely, and actionable information.The ideal candidate blends strong analytical capability with solid financial understanding and the ability to work across Finance, Data Engineering, and Business teams.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
Analyze financial and operational data within OneStream to identify trends, variances, and performance insights.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and consolidation teams with analytical outputs.
Translate data findings into clear, business-friendly insights, dashboards, and commentary.
Collaborate with Finance teams to understand drivers, assumptions, and modeling requirements.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations within OneStream.
Ensure reporting structures align with business taxonomies, KPIs, and governance standards.
Provide stakeholders with ad-hoc reporting and data extraction support.
Enhance report automation, formatting, and user experience.
Data Validation & Quality Assurance
Conduct regular data checks, reconciliations, and validations for OneStream processes.
Identify and investigate inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies in data.
Collaborate with Data Engineers and Functional Specialists to resolve data issues.
Maintain documentation of validation rules, reconciliation logic, and data lineage.
Process & Model Support
Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of system enhancements, workflow changes, or new modules.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration, and regression testing cycles.
Recommend improvements to data structures, model layouts, and reporting workflows.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with Finance, FP&A, Operations, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver insights.
Train and support users on reporting tools, data structures, and OneStream navigation.
Act as a key resource for analytical queries related to OneStream outputs.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
2–5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or FP&A Analyst.
Proficiency with OneStream or similar CPM/EPM tools (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC, Anaplan, Tagetik).
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Expertise in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau is a plus).
Familiarity with data modeling concepts and BI/reporting best practices.
Basic understanding of ETL/ELT principles and data workflows.
Finance Knowledge
Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Ability to interpret financial statements and key performance indicators.
Experience with multi-entity or multi-dimensional reporting environments.
Soft Skills
Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate analysis into actionable insights.
A curious mindset with a passion for exploring data.
Ability to manage deadlines across month-end and planning cycles.
Collaborative and service-oriented approach to stakeholder support.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience in large, complex organizations.
Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Power Query, VBA).
Experience supporting financial planning or consolidation environments.
