Overview
The OneStream Functional Specialist will play a key role in driving financial consolidation, planning, and reporting excellence across the organisation. This role blends business finance expertise with strong system capability, ensuring that OneStream is designed, optimised, and leveraged to support strategic decision-making.You will be the bridge between Finance, IT, and the broader business — translating needs, refining processes, enhancing data structures, and enabling a single version of the truth.
Responsibilities
Functional Ownership & Enhancement
Serve as the primary functional owner of the OneStream platform.
Lead the design, configuration, and enhancement of OneStream applications, including workflows, forms, dashboards, and business rules.
Translate business requirements into well-scoped functional solutions.
Optimise metadata, dimensionality, and data models to ensure strong governance and performance.
Financial Processes & Reporting
Support end-to-end financial close, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes within OneStream.
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with accounting and reporting standards.
Develop and maintain financial and operational reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
Data Governance & Quality
Own data input structures, validation rules, workflow controls, and mappings.
Monitor data integrity and troubleshoot discrepancies across source systems and OneStream.
Guide business users on correct data entry, structure, and governance practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Support
Act as the functional subject matter expert for Finance, Operations, and business teams.
Conduct training, documentation, and change-management activities.
Collaborate with IT/technical teams for deeper development or integration requirements.
Support audits, compliance checks, and internal/external reporting cycles.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes proactively.
Recommend enhancements based on new OneStream functionalities or evolving business needs.
Stay updated on OneStream best practices and industry trends.
Qualifications
Technical & Functional Expertise
3–7 years of experience working with OneStream in a functional capacity.
Strong understanding of financial consolidation, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Proven experience configuring workflows, forms, cubes, metadata, security roles, dashboards, and business rules.
Solid understanding of data integration concepts, mapping, and data governance.
Finance / Business Knowledge
Background in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP consolidation principles is advantageous.
Ability to translate business processes into system design.

High attention to detail and structured thinking.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain system concepts in business-friendly language.
Proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, from finance teams to senior leadership.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
OneStream certifications or significant experience in certified environments.
Experience with CPM/EPM tools such as Hyperion, SAP BPC, or Anaplan.
Exposure to large, complex organisational environments.
Familiarity with SQL or scripting (beneficial but not essential).
