Overview
We are searching for a detail-oriented Project Control/Planner to join our clients dynamic Project Execution team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects, ensuring that all schedules are logical, practical, and achievable. This position requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless delivery of project objectives.
Note: Role will be based in Sandton at first but will move to Rustenburg once site office is set up
Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and handle inquiries related to planning and scheduling.
Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, procurement teams, and project controls staff to manage planning functions in line with established procedures.
Develop and maintain planning data from engineering, procurement, logistics, construction, commissioning, and operations.
Ensure all plans align with the company’s management system, policies, objectives, and procedures.
Assist in creating tracking systems to measure progress and project status accurately.
Compile major project plans and execution schedules for the division.
Review planning and scheduling documentation to identify ambiguities, risks, and key issues.
Ensure all planning and scheduling information is available to support fabrication needs.
Gather and analyze data for Extensions of Time (EOT) and variations.
Perform other tasks as required to support project execution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project control/planning roles within the mining industry.
Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong ability to prepare plans, schedules, proposals, and executive reports in English.
Proficiency in Chinese Mandarin is an advantage.
Methodical and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility for accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Willingness to work on a variety of industrial or mining projects and tasks.
Ability to work independently to gather and analyze weekly/monthly data.
Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
Experience in secondary development of the P6 software system, including integration with other systems and familiarity with Web Services within the P6 system.
