Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Identifying and managing project risks to meet stakeholder expectations.
Achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) including financial metrics, cash management, health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Overseeing project profit and loss, ensuring financial targets are met.
Monitoring financial performance and participating in monthly operating report meetings for accurate forecasting and planning.
Ensuring compliance with company standards in culture, health & safety, quality, environment, security, and integrity.
Liaising with key stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Developing and implementing project execution strategies, schedules, and logistics plans.
Managing project costs, budgets, and labour histograms, while tracking weekly project indicators.
Reviewing and implementing project quality, environmental, health, and safety management plans.
Leading and motivating construction and engineering teams to achieve project goals.
Managing procurement schedules, subcontractor selection, and supply chain coordination.
Chairing internal team, supplier, and subcontractor meetings to ensure project performance.
Overseeing project cost/revenue control and issuing weekly performance reports.
Attending client and project management meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
Liaising with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to avoid roadblocks and ensure smooth project execution.
Developing and implementing test and commissioning procedures.
Ensuring prompt project close-out, including delivery of key documentation and agreement of final accounts.
Implementing corrective action plans as necessary.
Adhering to the company’s Code of Conduct and performing all other duties associated with the role.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Professional project management qualifications or a trade qualification.
In-depth understanding and experience with electrical and mechanical systems used in data centre environments, including Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS Systems, Battery Banks, ATS/STS Units, PDU Units, Air Handling Units, Chilled Water Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, and Fire Suppression Systems.
Knowledge of safety code requirements related to the service.
Experience in Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures.
Proven experience in vendor management and monitoring outsourced support and projects.
Strong understanding of project management principles and experience delivering data centre project upgrade works.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, employees, and subcontractors.
Exceptional motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
Ability to communicate technical and business problems in a non-technical manner.
Strong ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Willingness to travel and work abroad as required.
